Popular Facial Fillers Now Approved with Local Anesthetic
Popular facial filler injectables are making the move toward painless injections by adding lidocaine into their products. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic, which works to numb the injection site and ultimately provide patients with a more comfortable experience.
The facial fillers now FDA approved for use with lidocaine are Restylane®, Perlane®, and Juvederm®. These products work by injecting collagen or a collagen-like substance into the face to smooth out wrinkles and folds or to plump up lips and correct scarring. With the addition of a local anesthetic into these injections, the actual procedure will be more comfortable for patients without affecting results.
