Board certified dermatologist Dr. Ashley Curtis and Mara Grosswald, PA-C were recently featured on the daytime show Atlanta & Company to discuss MiraDry® for sweat reduction. They explained to the audience how this non-invasive treatment works to permanently eliminate underarm sweat glands, providing life-changing results.
Kathryn Filipek, PA-C was also recently a guest on TrustDale TV to discuss proper skin care, laser procedures and Ultherapy® skin tightening. On the show Kathryn recommended that patients regularly check their skin and see a dermatologist annually for a complete skin check to help prevent sun damage, premature aging, and skin cancer. CoolSculpting® is the latest non-surgical fat reduction technology, approved for the flanks and abdomen. Patients looking to eliminate small pockets of stubborn fat can benefit from this treatment and minimal downtime. Through a process called cryolipolysis, cold temperatures are applied to targeted areas to freeze the fat. Since fat is gradually expelled through the lymphatic system following treatment, patients typically see full results in four to six months. Dermatology Associates of Atlanta First to Offer miraDry® For Non-Surgical, Permanent Sweat Reduction
ATLANTA, GA, July 26th, 2012 –Dermatology Associates of Atlanta is the first in the Atlanta area and all of Georgia to offer the FDA approved miraDry® system for underarm sweating. Using an electromagnetic thermolysis system, miraDry, focuses thermal energy to destroy sweat glands in adults 18 and over. Unlike other sweating treatments such as Botox® injections or invasive surgical procedures, this technology is safe and effective for permanent sweat reduction.
Appropriate for those with hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) or those looking to eliminate embarrassing clothes staining and body odor, the miraDry® technology selectively targets sweat glands under the arm. Since sweat glands cannot regenerate, treatment produces permanent results. The August 2012 issue of O, the Oprah Magazine, featured miraDry® as a promising permanent solution for excessive underarm sweat.
The technology uses a cooling system to prevent the skin’s surface from burning and help maximize patient comfort. The device also carries the added benefit of eliminating underarm hair during the treatment. The miraDry® procedure is performed over two, hour long in-office treatments under local anesthesia, with a three month period between treatments. This procedure is non-invasive requiring little recovery time. Most patients are able to return back to their daily activities immediately after treatment.
Numerous studies have shown high rates of patient satisfaction through a single office visit. Dr. Ashley R.
