Then, low levels of focused ultrasound energy are targeted toward the treatment area to heat the predetermined depth of tissue under the skin. The heat energy helps to tone and tighten loose skin while stimulating the production of collagen. How does Ulthera® Skin Tightening work?Ulthera® works using ultrasound waves to heat the deeper dermal layers of the facial tissue and increase the production of collagen. The gentle heat produced by the ultrasound waves leaves the outer layers of the skin undamaged, making Ulthera® great for patients of all skin tones and textures. What does the Ultherapy® treatment feel like?Each person's comfort level differs; therefore, some patients report discomfort when the energy is being delivered. Are there any side effects with this treatment?
The treatment area may appear red following the procedure, and some patients experience swelling, tingling, or tenderness immediately afterward as well. Side effects from Ulthera® are generally mild and temporary.
Is Ultherapy® safe?
Ultrasound technology has been used in the medical field for over 50 years, and Ulthera® is FDA-approved for non-surgical skin tightening. In order to gain FDA approval, Ulthera® was demonstrated and approved as a safe treatment.
